Nature tours on the Otago Pennisula

We plan on visitng this area for two days in Feb 2008. Is is possible to do both the Penguin Place and the Albatross center in one full day? Also is it best to go on a tour and if so which company? We do have our own car.

Hi

Definitely possible to do both of those things in 1 day (+ a visit to Larnach Castle, and also a visit to the beach near the albatross colony at dusk, to see little Blue Penguins coming ashore)

The Otago Peninsula is a fantastic area, and although you can do all this in a day, I would recommend staying for at least 2 as it is just such an amazing area.

It is quite feasible to do all of this independently if you have your own car.

Thanks Andychef, We do actually have two days in Otago- thought we would spend at least 1/2 day in Dunedin- then onto the airport to fly to Auckland.
