Need help in planning 8D7N in Perth

Hi, my family of 5 (3 teenage children) will be going to Perth from 15 Dec - 21 Dec 2013.

We will be arriving the airport at 18:20pm on 15 Dec 2013 Saturday.

We planned to pick-up our rented car and drive all the way from the airport to the Preston Footprints Resort which we will be staying there throught the 7 nights. (Not too sure if this is advisable or should we take a maxicab directly to the resort?, we are afraid it would be too dark to drive on the road by then we cleared our luggage etc.)

Our intention of this trip is to self-drive to cover most of the must visit palces and and join the 1 Day Pinnacles, Koalas and Sand Boarding 4WD Adventure tour on one of the day.

We planned to go to the Fremantle Market on the 2nd day which is a Sunday.

Join the full day Pinnacles, koalas and Sand Boarding 4WD Adventure Tour on the 3rd day.

As we will be staying in the Preston Footprints Resort throughout the 7 nights, we really need help from the experts here to advise which are the places we should and is sensible to cover for the rest of the days before we fly back to Singapore

Thank you in advance for your help.

If you're referring to the jetty Shanice I guess it is a rarity because of its length. Nothing too special about the town itself or the beaches....at least to us locals. Still...its a pleasant enough drive down and you'll get to see a bit of countryside as a change from the city.

Perhaps head straight down on the Forrest Hwy and then take a longer route back via Southwest Hwy. Stop at Harvey (Stirling cottage next to the Harvey Visitor Centre is lovely for a bite to eat and a wander around the gardens). Or perhaps a coffee break at Pinjarra (Edenvale Tearooms is a good spot) Google these places for more info.

It'll be a long day and fairly tiring but by leaving early its doable....providing the kids dont mind a lot of car time.

Hi A J, yes, you are right. I am actually referring to the Busselton Jetty.

Thank you for your great suggestions, both the Stirling Cottage and the Edenvale Tearooms look lovely. We will definitely look into it.

We are looking forward to visiting WA in the next few days. Thank you all for your great advice and suggestions so far, it has been really helpful to us and we really appreciate it.
