Current restaurant recommendations ??

Does anyone have any current restaurant recommendations / what to avoid for Broome. Most of the restaurant posts are from 2008.

We will be in Broome next week ; ) and looking foreward to it !

hiya

i live in broome

try Carlotta's very good italian but book ahead.Or the Arli Bar..gr8 coffee

Zanders on Cable Beach can be inconsistent but has the view

Som Thai probably best asian in town, real thai chefs who keep winning awards.

the chinese takeaways in town are old 'aussie' chinese not cheap!

Black Pearl, Blooms, Lustre Bar, Matso's can all be good. staff can be a problem up here so service is varied

Divers tavern and the Roey usually have good pub food huge serves

enjoy

Hi Kimberleybloke,

Likewise, heading up your way soon having not been in Broome for about 5 years. Is the Town Beach cafe still there? And the Old Zoo cafe?

Also looking to pick up some seafood to take up to Cape Leveque - can you recommend anywhere?

Thanks.

Well we stayed in Broome from 7/6-11/6.arrived just in time for a blackout so only 2 restaurants seemed to be operating in town the first night.luckily one was Som Thai-good thai food but like all places in Broome is on the expensive time.

Monday lunch at the Old Zoo cafe.4 of us had the 7 dishes on the Tapas menu.all were good but the Honey soy duck Shanks, whitebait and Panko crusted Fried Mushrooms with aioli mayo all had to be tried again they were so good.

Tuesday lunch at Matso's Brewery.Good food but very slow service. The Threadfin salmon as suggested was great this time of year.

Wednesday lunch at the Wharf restaurant at the port.Fantastic seafood.Started off with a selection of oysters ans scallops and for mains shared Barra Wings, garlic prawns and Asian style fried whole fish-fantastic.For dinner our friends went to Noodlefish-Thai style, thought it very good but cash only.

Thursday lunch-Aarli bar-again we went tapas style and this probably eclipsed the Old zoo cafe but not by much.Had lamb cutlets, pork belly with ginger, soy and chinese greens,Spicy Lamb meatballs, shredded duck spring rolls-all very good.

So would reccomend all.Seafood at the Wharf we voted best. Then Aarli bar,Old zoo cafe and Noodlefish.

Hi Kimberley Bloke we'll be staying at Seashells and would like to go tothe Town Beach Cafe for brekkie. Is it walking distance from the Seashells please ? I guess we will have to hire a car or take a taxi to Carlotta's. ALso what's the best way to get from Broome airport to town ? Thanks

This is what you do when you are about to return to your old home, you read old posts on Tripadvisor and answer them. Superspots asked in he could walk to Town Beach Cafe from Seashells...not unless you like walking. Broome is located on a peninsula of land and has water on two sides. Seashells is on the ocean side and Town Beach is on the bay side. Carlotta's is roughly half way between the two, so Seashells is in fact closer to Carlotta's than Town Beach. This might help someone reading this late in the day like I am......
