Organic food

Are there some good organic, non-gmo, free range meat restaurants in the Melbourne area? Also where are the best grocery stores for organic foods? Price is not a factor where my health is concerned.

Sorry, I can't really help you with organic restaurants, but I can tell you that the Queen Victoria market has a large organic section.

Not sure how comprehensive, but it's a starting point -

Which area are you staying in? Are you in the CBD? Many restaurants offer organic food & free range meat but the non GMO will be a harder but her are some sites might be a good start:

Here's some ideas

I've tried the Veggie Bar and Shakahari. Both are excellent.

What do you class as free range meat? It is a very loose term with different interpretations. The majority of domestic beef and lamb is grass fed.

What do you class as free range meat as the majority of lamb and beef produced in Australia for the domestic market is grass/pasture fed.

Yes. Free range can have grey edges. In the States cattle are generally raised all or most of their lives in feed lots, where they are crowded together and fed GMO soy products and corn. I eat meat that is from 100% grass grazing. I prefer that to "finished" meat, where the cow is brought into a feedlot to be fattened up for its last few weeks on soy and corn.
