Accommodation - easy access to Armadale, Stonnington area

Hi, we are looking for accommodation (double ensuite) that gives easy access daily to the Kooyong/St Georges Road area.

We are having trouble figuring out the best options with good public transport.

We'd be happy with a walk of several kilometres but wonder if our Kiwi bones will find that too hot in mid Feb?

Any suggestions of particular places or websites would be great, many thanks.

While I cannot recommend a particular place to stay, I would suggest you look for places in the vicinity of Toorak rd, there are quite a few in South Yarra, according to Google Maps. Just note the name of the place and then look it up. There is a tram which goes up Toorak rd and it shouldn't be too far to walk to/from. The website which provides further info re public transport is http://ptv.vic.gov.au/. February might be definitely too hot to walk "a few kilometres".

The intersection of Kooyong Rd & St Georges Rd isn't too far from Wattletree Rd and you can catch the No 5 tram to there from the city.

Convenient accomodation options along the route are quite broad - anywhere in the city, Southbank, anywhere along St Kilda Rd or near St Kilda Junction. All of these areas have lots of accommodation options to suit every budget.

Have a look at www.wotif.com and filter by the above localities then pick something you like.

Can you clarify a bit.

Cos to me St George's rd is Toorak as is parts of Kooyong rd.

If that is the case the there are several places we could recommend...so exactly where are you heading ( without of course given an street number) as I would be tending to stay in either some of the hotels or serviced apartments around the Chapel st/Toorak rd intersection ( there is a Quest apartments and several hotels) and you can then get a tram 10 minutes up Toorak rd to St George's rd or Kooyong rd.

Hi 6andy6, evamelb and antipodsince1 and many thanks for your help.

Looks like Tram 5 route the best option ... least walking in case of heat and most accommodation options.

Really appreciate you all taking the time to respond.

Cheers
