We will be staying at Oaks on Collins in May 2006. Does anyone know where the nearest supermarket is and if it is easily accessible?

Thanks

There is a Coles supermarket in Elizabeth St, not far from Collins Street, it is between Flinders and Flinders Lane. You are at 480 Collins which is at the western end of the city, just near William St, so Elizabeth is only 2 blocks away. There are a lot of small 7/11 and IGA type supermarkets around as well, not sure if there are any of these closer than the Coles in Elizabeth.

There is a small IGA supermarket at the end of Collins street - this would be the closest. It is at the Southern Cross station (Spencer st station) end about one block up.

However, the nearest full sized supermarket (Safeway) is in the QV centre (corner of Lonsdale and Swanston streets) about a 15-20 minute walk.
