Overnight parking in CBD

We are coming to Hobart for the Wooden Boat Show and will be staying at the Brunswick Hotel in Liverpool Street. We would like to hire a car for 2/3 days to do some day trips. What is our best and cheapest option for parking overnight?

You can park just about anywhere in the city from about 6pm until about 8am at no cost. But make sure you read the signs and move the car before the time specified next morning.

During the day, the Argyle Street carpark is an easy walk away.

As Luigi said but also I'd add that the meters in Hobart allow you to pre-feed the meter the night before so you could add the money then not have to move till 9 (assuming an hour meter!)

Thanks Luigi and Jill. Problem solved!

Any suggestions for rental company that's not too far from our hotel for pick-up, reasonable rates, can be returned at the airport and insurance covers Bruny Island if we decide to include that. Is Bruny worth the trip over?

The locations of the Hobart city rental companies are on this page: tripadvisor.com.au/Travel-g255097-s302/Hobar…

Bargain Car Rentals allows cars on the ferry to Bruny. You would need to contact the other companies directly to get an exception to their published Ts&Cs.

Bruny is worthwhile.
