Mures Restaurant Upper Deck vs Lower Deck

Would like to dine at Mures, but I see there's an upper deck, and lower deck. What's the difference, and which is recommended?

Hi, the lower deck is a good standard fish and chip shop (serves sushi as well) while the upper deck is a formal restaurant. I have had a couple of disappointing meals at the upper deck, they do charge a reasonable amount for their meals, however the service is good and the outlook wonderful

Do you have any recommendations for other seafood restaurants in the area?

You could try the Marque IV which is located about 100 metres away on the Elizabeth Pier (website marqueiv.com.au) or try the Drunken Admiral (which is just across the dock from Mures (drunkenadmiral.com.au). We had a meal recently at Marque IV and while a little expensive was delicious.

The upper deck is the restaurant, the lower deck is more casual (fish and chips, ice cream) and has the fishmonger and a sushi bar.

I would suggest looking into the upperdeck, as I think the fish and chips are better at nearby Fish Frenzy

I like the Lunch Specials at Mures Upper Deck - but thats the only go (best value)

I think they are running their lunch deal at the moment $30 pp for two courses ($35 for 3 courses)

this includes a bottle of wine if there is two people. Choice of food is limited, but solid.

The Drunken Admiral looks interesting, the music on their website certainly is. Is the food okay? Thanks!

Mures is over-rated, and over priced. Both of them.

For *the best* fish and chips in all of Hobart go to the Fish Bar in Bellerive

Hi,

Mures lower deck is cafe style eating, if you go for lunch on a sunny day and eat outside you will probably have a great experience, similarly you could buy fish and chips from one of the punts moored in Constitution dock and have an equally good experience. Fish frenzy is good as is the Fish bar, you have to travel to the Eastern shore and the "ambiance" is zero inside! I guess it depends what you want, really good fish and chips or a meal in a restaurant.

cheers Gloria
