Is this OK, for a seven night trip to Tassie?

We have been to Tasmania before and really enjoyed it, so we are back again for another holiday, in early September.

Day 1. Arrive Hobart at 10.15, pick up rental car and drive to Swansea accommodation to stay two nights.

Day 2. Go on the Wineglass Bay Cruise.

Day 3 & 4. Drive to stay at St. Marys for two nights. Visit Binalong Bay and go for several walks around there.

Day 5 & 6. Stay in Launceston for 2 nights and tour around there.

Day 7. Drive to Hobart on the Midlands Highway and stay there for one night.

Day 8. Leave Hobart at 10.45.

Are there any suggestions on trips that I could take at these places? Are we going to need plenty of warm clothes? Leave the shorts at home?

It should be a relaxing holiday.

I think you are going to be underwhelmed by two days in St Marys, but we did discuss that previously, I see.

Thanks Luigi, we did intend to take it easy this time. Travelled around quite a bit last time and tend to take it a bit easier this trip. Will go to Bicheno. Staying at Rainbow Retreat at St Marys. Expensive, but did have lots of good reviews. Thanks mate.

Hi,

Your itinerary looks good. I also think 2 days in St Mary's is too long. We stayed in an excellent beach house in Swansea recently which may assist you. My reviews below for additional info on Swansea & Hobart.

I also would recommend you change the St Mary's stay, IMO you should add in the Tasman Peninsula or an overnight stay at Cradle Mountain, as this is a good time to stay at Cradle Mt it could possibly snow.

Safe travels - Robert
