We stayed there 18 months ago. I just checked their website. Looks the same, nice exterior but dated interior. The clever gizmos for dispensing soap and toilet paper really annoyed me. Convenient location.

We were told there's a restaurant and a bistro at the Comfort Inn across the road and we should book. So we booked into the restaurant. When we arrived we were shown to our table and left alone for some time. Hubby attracted the attention of the waitress who explained (belatedly) that except in peak season the restaurant and bistro are one and the same, and you place your order in the bar. The place, which was not booked out, started to empty by the time our main course arrived, even though it wasn't late. The waitress started to clean the tables with bleach and as she got closer to our table the smell became more and more offputting. Shame that the place was so amateurishly run, the food was okay and Hubby's entree was actually very nice.

The following night we went to Felons located in the Visitors Centre. Really good food and really good friendly service. No wonder they were busier. Wish we'd found them first.

BTW the water from the taps was brown both times we have visited Port Arthur. Perhaps sombody can advise whether this is still the case. Just thought I'd mention it so you don't get a surprise.
