Flinders Chase National Park after the fires

We're plannig to go in late September for 2 nights. I've read the Flinders Chase Park is the area with the most damage. Can you go into the park? Are the animals still there? Or does it look like a a burned out forest? Any input would be appreciated.

I believe you can go into the park. In that area most of the attractions relate to the beach (admirals arch, FLinders Chase, the beach you walk amongst the sea lions, etc) and so would not be damaged. Try the South Australian government website or SA tourism using google.

The island is huge and so there will be many areas unaffected. Also at Kingscote at night you see fairy penguins, the local ranger does night time walks which are popular.

Might be a bit chilly in September so make sure you bring a jumper/sweater.
