Flinders Ranges to Barossa - scenic route

We will be visiting Flinders Ranges in October. We are driving up from Adelaide along the scenic route, via Clare Valley, On the way back we will be stopping overnight in Barossa Valley, before catching a flight to Melbourne. We would like to take a scenic - not necessarily the quickest - route from Flinders to Barossa. Our current thinking is to take B80 / A32 via Peterborough.

Does this sound like a good plan? How much time should we allow for this drive?

Many thanks

Take the B52 form Quorn via Melrose, Gladstone, Clare, Auburn. Then south of Auburn take the A32 to the Freeling turnoff through Freeling to the Sturt Hwy at Daveyston, after Daveston take a slight detour into Greenock, nice little town, and back onto the Sturt Hwy and then to Nuriootpa and you are at the top end of the Barossa Valley.

Distance about 300 KM driving time about 4 hours from Quorn.

More scenic route than via Peterborough.

If you can, take the time to see some of the Aboriginal petroglyphs (rock carvings) at places like Sacred Canyon or Mt Chambers Gorge.
