Getting from Nari's beach to Whitehaven

My girlfriend and I are planning to camp on Nari's Beach this summer. While we are there, I was hoping to get to Whitehaven beach. We will have a kayak but not being seasoned paddlers, I don't imagine that paddling around the island is realistic? Does anyone know of a walking trail that links the two sides of the island or have any other suggestions?

Many thanks to those taking the time to respond to this post!

Kev

There is no way to paddle, especially with the ocean currents. You can get a water taxi to ferry you from point A to point B.

The islands are mountainous and the terrain very rough. Look on google earth, but the walking plan seems unrealistic, if not impossible.

There is a path from Sawmill Beach nearby nearby to the top of Whitsunday Peak, but it does not go down the other side.

I suggest you camp on Whithaven, or get a boat to drive you. Look at the viasitors guide for more …qld.gov.au/parks/pdf/whitsunday-vg.pdf
