What is the best place to stay ? snorkel? at the reef?

Hello,

Its my first trip to australia and i want to see the gbr snorkel and any other adventurous activity i can find....please let me know where i should go for budget accommodation. i am traveling alone and will be staying for 2days before going off to perth.

With only 2 days to spend in the area, then I would recommend you stay in Cairns. For budget accommodations, I'd recommend staying in a hostel. You can use Hostelworld.com to find a hostel that suits your style and budget. (My young adult children have used this site a lot to find hostels in Europe.)

I also agree with longhorn with only 2 days you would be best to stay in Cairns & do tours from there.
