Best child-friendly accomodation?

My wife and I will be in Townsville for 5 nights in early December and I would like some recommendations for child-friendly accomodation.

We will be travelling with an 8mth old and ideally would like something well-positioned (walking distance to shops/restaurants/beach etc) with a nice outdoor area.

Appreciate any feedback. Cheers!

What is your budget....??...

Most places, resorts, hotels are child friendly except backpackers I guess....

Unless there is something I don't know about some places not being child friendly...??...

I'd recommend Seagulls Resort on the Esplanade and beach.

Some shops across the road, but it's away from the main "Strand" and main town area.

As far as Townsville goes, most of the accommodation is near the city area, including the casino, and seems to cater for business trips.

This is the only accommodation I've stayed where they do have good grounds and pools. not luxury, but clean and right on the beach.

Aquarius on the Beach is across the road from the strand, could be worth looking at but I've not stayed there.

enjoy your stay

I have stayed at Aquarius about 7 years ago.LTB....Quite nice to wake up in the morning and see Maggy Island...

Aquarius is a bit upmarket for my liking nowadays....

Have also stayed at Adventurers Backpackers...Say no more....My review gives an indication on what I think about that place....Price is very reasonable/cheap for a twin room tho' not kiddy friendly....

Two different budget ideas .....!!

I wouldn't stay at the backpackers, let alone with an 8 month old baby cocotang. That place is a dump. lol

Hahahaaa...!!...You're not wrong LTB....Adventurers Resort is really something else and somehow,I am sort of glad we actually stayed there because in hindsight,we now have a lot to talk about that place....A truly different experience...!!...Will never stay there again by the way....

However,Adventurers location is fabulous right on Ross river and across the road make that bridge from town....

As for walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach...Best location would have to be somewhere along the Strand....

Could be quite booked up in early December tho'...??..
