Good Eating on the Gold Coast

I will shortly be holidaying with my family in Surfers and looking for good Italian, steak and Chinese restaurants.

Will have my own car and happy to pay up for good quality food and service.

All ideas welcome.

Hi Mate,

There are many good restaurants on the gold coast. If you are staying in Broadbeach I like ZEN at the Casino for Chinese, Marios in the Broadbeach Mall for Italian and Moo Moo does a good steak albeit quite expensive. Cavs Steakhouse in Labrador does a good steak also but depends where your based.

There are plenty of nice restaurants in Broadbeach - Alto (next to Marios), Zen at Casino.

Italian there is a great one at Nobbys Beach called Romanos (poplular with the locals) about a 10 min drive south. In Surfers Nicolinis has been there for ever and has always served up quality Italian.

Also grab a pub lunch at fishermans wharf on the water 100 metres from versace, good size meals and good quality.

Surfers - Seaduction

For a nice night out - no need to drive. Not really for family - more for couples.

Broadbeach

George's at Broadbeach (NOT George's Paragon)

Great for families.

(on the roundabout next to Valentino's near the Oasis centre) - get the rib eye on the bone surf & turf. Its huge and my husband gets it everytime. If you like pasta - the Penne Bugs....mmmmmmmm.....

Ask for Chico - he balances a bottle of wine on his head). Also has good wines, kids menu and next door is a gelato bar.

Ashmore Seafood & Steak is a local institution. Service and quality aren't always going to be on par with classier restaurants, but servings are impressive and the ambience is acceptable. Have a look, they're worth a visit at least once in your life!

If you want to try something different there is a new restaurant in Surfers Paradise, called Prague Restaurant, opposite the Legends Hotel and next door to the favourite Italian spot, La Rustica.

Its relatively new and the food is sensational, and reasonable.
