Hi there

What's your budget? And what type of accommodation are you looking for - quiet beach spot, close to nightlife, romantic spa break etc.

Cheers

Here are a few ideas (all have rooms under £100 on wotif.com):

In Cairns (close to everything, lots of great restaurants and shopping, don't need to hire a car)

---

Hilton

Sofitel Reef Casino

Trinity Beach (quiet beach just north of Cairns)

---

Bellevue at Trinity Beach

Sea Change Beachfront Apartments

Trinity On The Esplanade

Palm Cove (a little further north, bigger than Trinity Beach, but still a quiet spot)

---

Outrigger Beach Club & Spa

Sanctuary Palm Cove

You can check http://www.wotif.com/ for last minute prices - they usually have good deals on all the above hotels. Check with tripadvisor for the hotel ratings as well. You might find one that sticks out for you. Also, 70-100GBP works out to be about $175-250AUD, so use that as your guide.

How glam do you want for your honeymoon? I'm staying in Dreamtime Travellers Rest, which is a small nice backpackers hostel, but has doubles. It's very friendly, and it's nice to be able to chat to people. Plus, then you could use the money you'd save on going shopping!

I would stay at Palm Cove for a honeymoon. It is the most romantic spot in Cairns, even if this suburb is about 25 km from the town centre. Search for acommodation with an address on the esplanade. They range in price. Reef tours include pick ups from Palm Cove and I also think they have a reef trip leave from the wharf there.
