Easy Reef Access

Is there an island that has reef access directly from the beach that does not involve a long boat ride?

Can one access the island by air?

Any issues with stingers/jellyfish in late March ( very allergic)

Thank you for help/

All islands are at least an hour by boat, but there are some that have seaplane or helicopter tours to them, such as lizard Island. Im sure some if the others do too.

As for stingers the season doesn't end until May. You will need to wear a stinger suit if you go swimming.

Lizard Island is one, but it is very expensive. We liked it but it is very expensive now, out of our range. We went a while ago and the best snorkeling we did from Lizard was on boat trips to Cod Hole and ribbon reefs. There is shore snorkeling there, however, and the giant clams are amazing!

Have a look at Lady Elliot Island and Heron Island, and see if they tick your boxes.

They are also to the south of the stinger area, and you won't need to wear a suit.
