Visit in May/June

Planning for a trip to Cairns in May/June and need some help from all of you:

1. How's the weather like at that time?

2. We like fishing very much, can we go fishing along the beach and do we need licence for that?

3. Any suggestion for an apartment for 2 adult with kitchen?

4. What are the must see/go places? As we do not drive, will there be problem getting around?

Thanks in advance!

1. Re: Visit in May/June

Milly - The weather in May/June will still be warm and sunny. Days and nights will start getting cooler but in no way, cold. Crowds will be down so a nice time to visit.

Fishing is a great pastime - as for shore fishing, havent seen much shore fishing - most of the coastline is sandy so your better fishing will be done in either the back waters (inlet behind Cairns Harbour) or deep saltwater fishing. License, sorry, I don't know if a license is necessary but the fishing guide you hire will be able to sort out all the details.

There is one company, Catch a Crab, that does inlet fishing and crabbing tours and they get pretty good reviews. www.catcha-crab.com

There is a great reef booking service called Cairns Reef Charters - they can arrange all your deep water fishing expeditions www.ausfish.com

As for apartments - there are heaps of them so if you can offer a nightly budget this will help us suggest.

Must Dos -

Best of Kuranda Rainforest w/Tjapukai Aboriginal Center, Skyrail Rainforest Gondola and Vintage Train - 3 tours combined in to one day
