Hi Kevin

If you are visiting the theme parks, have you considered staying at the Gold Coast? You may find this area to more fun, beautiful beaches and it also closer to the theme parks. Australia Zoo is more accessable from Brisbane. What is you budget for accomodation? Brisbane is about 15 klm from the airport, there is a train available which is inexpensive.

What are you interests?

Brisbane to Gold Coast is about an hour drive depending on traffic. Several buses and trains are available from the airport.

Lots of wildlife in the Gold coast hinterland, rainforest, waterfalls, national parks etc.

Staying in Brisbane - do a day trip to Moreton Island, a true wilderness on brisbane's doorstep. Lots of ocean life, snorkelling, sand dunes, wrecks, beautiful beaches etc.

You are coming in peak holiday time, so the GC will be at its busiest, book your accom now.

the other days i will do a tour to moreton island, and did you say that you can go snokerling etc at areas close to brisbane??

can you list some hotels that may be of interest to me in the brisbane area?

thanks again and look forward to your comments,

g'day Kevin

Yes the theme parks are accessable from Brisbane, You can snorkel on the wrecks at tangalooma, a twenty minute walk from the jetty on the island.

If you want to stay in Brisbane CBD, there are the usual 5 *hotels, some of the cheaper ones are Holiday Inn, George Williams

i have contacted the George Williams hotel and they have informed me that for my 4 night stay from 8th jan 2007 to 12 jan 2007 will be $400.

i think this is a fair price and will book it but before i do, can i ask what you think?

is it accessable/respectable??

thanks in advance,

kevin

Yes it is very accessable, you can get a train from the airport to Roma Street Station and then walk 5 mins to the hotel. It is 3 star, nothing flash but repsectable and comfortable. It would probably be the cheapest in the city unless of course you may prefer backpackers.

From the hotel it is only a 3 minute walk to the Queen St Mall, stores, casino etc, a 15 -20 minute to Sothbank.

For the time of year, i think it is a fair price, however I would negotiate to include breakfast.
