Travel agent in Brisbane

Hi

Can anyone recommend a good travel agent in Brisbane. I'm planning solo travel to Central/Eastern Europe next year and would like to find an agent that really knows what they're doing and talking about.

I usually call STA Travel for help. They understand how to get me from here to Cancun and then to Port of Spain without any fuss all in one trip.

I've just been told the TA Experts on this site is very anti travel agent so feel free to delete my post. Didn't realise what I was stepping into.

Not Necessarily ChelleW78, I've used Travel Associates in the past to help me organise my trip to Italy, without them I would have been totally lost.

dont know who told u that but i think the attitude is that travel agents have their place but are not generally needed for the more simple itineraries and destinations.

Not anti travel agent per se, just that a lot of the regulars will tell you it is very easy (and cheaper) to do it yourself. By all means, talk to a travel agent, but then go away and check what they have said. Remember, Google (& TA) is your friend. :-)

I would highly recommend Travelscene at Greenslopes Mall, as general travel agents. However, I attended a "boutique" travel expo in Bris a couple of years ago and one of the travel agents, Beyond Travel Eastern Europe (based in Sydney) was very impressive, with lots of firsthand knowledge and info about that area. They specialise in that area and I thought that if I was going there, I would go thru them. Good luck!! Try http://www.beyondtravel.com.au/

I think the main problem is that some people, including travel agents, post on TA to self-advertise. That is what TA, and many contributors, object to.

That being said, I usually prefer to do things myself nowadays. I find that I make less mistakes than travel agents used to and I like to be in charge of my own destiny.
