Indooroopilly shopping centre

We are 4 female shopperholics and have been told that Indooroopilly shopping centre is a must do.

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get there from Oaks Casino apartments in George St please?

Any other suggestions of good shopping centres?

thanks

Bus is probably the closest option from your hotel. See the Getting There page on the Indooroopilly Shopping Town website indooroopillyshopping.com.au/…

Train is also another option but there's abit more walking for you at either end of the journey.

Translink may also be useful for you to figure out where the different bus routes leave from in the city http://www.translink.com.au/. There's a journey planner that you can use on the home page.

In reality there is nothing that you can get at Indooroopily that you can't get in the city. If I was going to go to a regional shopping centre in Brisbane it would be Carindale or Chermside. Unfortunately the Myer at Indooroopilly would be the worst of all the suburban Myers, at least at the other 2 places you have both Myer and David Jones as well as a host of specialty shops.

The advice given by templc is spot on for transport options, just put Westfields Chermside or Westfield Carindale into the destination section of the translink website.

They are all just big shopping centres, each having much the same shops as every other shopping centre. Really, I doubt whether there is anything much that you could get in Brisbane that is not available in Auckland.

Well, from my experience in Auckland, the shopping Centres here in Brisbane are much bigger with a better range and variety of shops. But do agree there are always the ones like the Jeans Shops and some of the women's clothing chains which are the same. But we do have others which are not found in Auckland!

Garden City Shopping Centre is another large one in Brisbane, probably the same distance from the city as the others Oscar mentioned.

Happy shopping...from someone who has a daughter who loves it!

Chermside is so much better than Indooroopilly. I'd combine a wander around the City/Valley for more independent boutiques with a trip to Chermside to cover all of the chain stores.

My DW told me to advise you to forget about Indro as it is very so so and to go to Chermside orCarindale.

In my experience all these mostly have identical chain shops with an occasional one that is specific to the centre. Then smaller homeware shops, gift shops etc that you may like, but who can predict that in advance? Visit a couple but don't expect bargains, they are not outlet malls.

yes, the local fashionistas all head to Chermside. And possibly Carindale if you are on the South/East side.

I'm not sure about there being no bargains at a Westfield at present. I wouldn't be in retail for quids !

Everything is so heavily discounted everywhere pre xmas- so much for the old Boxing Day sales. And at least at these places you will still get current season stock. DFO's and other outlets sell out of season stuff and, lets face it, gear they couldnt sell in the stores. Some bargains if you dig deep enough but right now you dont have to.....
