Alice Springs to Uluru campervan pick up/drop off

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it's possible to hire a campervan in Alice and drop off in Uluru (or the other way round). There seem to be car hire places which let you pick up and drop off in different locations, but I can't find any campervan rentals that have that option.

Thanks

It is possible to find a one-way rental but it will be very expensive.

Can you describe the route that you want to take day by day?

I suspect that it will be cheaper to rent a car and stay in the campground at Uluru - which you would have to do with a van anyway. It's private land and there ain't no free camping!!

Another vote for hiring a car & stay at the caravan parks. Campervan's would be very difficult to find regarding a one way service.

There are numerous free and fee paying camping sites in The Red centre, depending whether you drive from Uluru to Alice Springs via Kings Canyon or directly from Uluru to Alice on the Lassetar and Stuart Hwys.

A) Sandy Way Rest Area - approx 30km east of Yulara - just basic facilities.

B) Mt Ebenezer- Yulara Campground - Yulara - toilets and shower facilities available. Power sites, bunkhouse, motel rooms, restaurant, bar, petrol and shop.

C) Curtin Springs Campground. - working Cattle Station with cabins, free camping, powered sites, a licensed pub, and home-style meals.

D) Voyages Campground Resort - Uluru. - toilets and shower facilities available, restaurants, shops, supermarket all within walking distance.

E) Glen Helen Resort - Basic motel accommodation, power sites , campgrounds, restaurant, beer garden , swimming pools, BBQ area, petrol - a " Real Outback Experience".

F) Voyages Kings Canyon Resort - The Resort is just 7kms from Watarrka National Park - Shower, toilet , cooking facilities, power sites, motel , restaurants, bar, and petrol.

G) Kings Creek Station - 36kms from Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) Petrol, Power Sites, toilet, shower, laundry facilities, swimming pool, canvas cabins, communal kitchen and bush breakfast is also available.

H) Eridunda - Cnr Lassetar Hwy & Stuart Hwy to Uluru - motel rooms. power sites, restaurant, shower, toliet , swimming pool , petrol and diesel.

I ) Stuarts Well Roadhouse (Jims Place) - Stuart Hwy to Eridunda - 90kms South from Alice Springs. Cabins, bunkhouse, power sites, camp kitchen , BBQ , Shower , Toilets, swimming pool, laundry, restaurant, bar and petrol.
