White Bay Cruise Terminal - Sat 2 Nov

We are a party of 8 adults landing at Sydney airport 11.35am next Saturday. We are hoping to catch a maxi-cab to White Bay Cruise Terminal. The cruise departs 4pm.

TWO QUESTIONS

WE think this will be simple ?? Can anyone advise us any different ?

We would like to buy a fold up chair each BEFORE we leave Sydney ... Is there a BCF or KMart or a Big W walking distance from the Cruise terminal to purchase this? Or should we get our maxi-cab to stop somewhere between the airport and the cruise terminal ?

Thanks in advance Sydney-siders or any recent cruisers who can help !!

Hi,

I would sugggest you "get on line" and book now. IME with 8 adults = at least 8 suitcases and o/night bags will need a mini bus and trailer for passengers and luggage.

Folding chairs? Are you sailing on the Bounty? Mosy cruise ship these days have enough deck chairs and the Costa Concordia is being turned into scrap!

I think IKEA on the way in from the airport could be your best bet.

There is nothing useful within walking distance of this terminal.

Bunnings at Mascot is probably the best option. Big W etc are all well out of the way.

You'll struggle with 8 fold up chairs + luggage and 1 maxi taxi.

These guys might be worth considering

They were used by another forum contributor and she was really happy. Might be cheaper especially with a stop off to shop

LMAO Ozrcflyer !!! No we not worried about seating on the cruise - but its a cruise to the Melbourne Cup - and as we figure that will be a little crowded and our fascinators will become heavy . . . AND my 76 yr old mum ... we want to take a fold up chair to rest our weary feet and fascinators ...

Couldnt you buy the fold up chairs in Melbourne then?

Juggling that much from the airport, carrying it for your cruise, together with making sure you mum is ok, seems quite fiddly to me.

Hi,

Where does the ship dock at Flemington? I bet it will cause a stir in the members!

Bit time poor before the Melb Cup to get chairs .. am now considering getting them here in Brisbane and hoping that they survive the plane flight ... we r just getting $5 ones to leave at the cup at the end of the day ... Think the ship just pulls tight up against the barrier post at the Melbourne Cup OZRCFLYER - Members ? Bah ! What Members ?

There's a K-Mart at Broadway Shopping Centre that's not very much of a detour on the route from Airport to the cruise terminal. I reckon youd get cheapie fold up chairs cheaper there than Bunnings imho. And from experience, you will easily get 8 pax + bags into an 11 seat maxi taxi - fold up the back double seat & you have bucket loads of room for bags + travellers.
