not sure 'boutique' and pacific hwy go together, but try either the Hunter Valley wine area (choice of hotels) or look at Peppers Anchorage Port Stephens

Hi

Do you want to stay in Port Stephens or between Sydney and Port Stephens?

Depending where you start from in Sydney and the time of the day and the day some areas of Sydney are that travel time to Port Stephens with a "good run"!

Cheers,

Port Stephens is only 2.5 - 3 hours drive from Sydney. If you want to stay somewhere on the way, there will be very little along the actual F3 highway. Make a detour from the highway to the west. Take the Cessnock exit and follow the signs to the Hunter Valley winery district where you will find beautiful scenery and free wine-tasting. Alternately, take a detour to the east. Take the Kariong exit and follow the signs to Terrigal or Avoca Beach, or the Ourimbah exit to The Entrance Beach. Both the Hunter Valley and beaches have many accommodation options which you can search for on tripadvisor.
