Are there any night buses from Manly Wharf to circular quay?

Hi,

We are planning to book a NYE's cruise which departs from manly wharf. The cruise boat will return to the same place at about 1am, are there any transport options (ferry/train/bus) after midnight that runs into the city/circular quay? We are staying at Danks Street (Waterloo area).

Thanks!

You can plan your trip by going to www.131500.com.au. From memory direct buses run about once an hour through the night (at least on weekends) . Ensure it is a direct bus as there are some two bus connection trips . The site will give you all the connections right up to Dank Street, Waterloo.

I should have also said, it will give you the ferry option if they are still running at the time you require.

I'd guess the NYE timetables aren't on 131500 yet.

In previous years, ferries have run after midnight between Sydney and Manly, until 3am or so. They don't run between 6pm and midnight though, but there are buses.

I'm sure you'll be fine - but there will be crowds and queues - but that is NYE.

There are lots of special transport arrangements for New Year's Eve, but you won't find them on the trip planner (131500) till a bit closer. This is the page you'll need:

http://www.131500.com.au/events

This might help too, for general information:

The fireworks will knock your socks off!

Thanks!

99% sure there'll be public transport available. If not, you'll struggle to find a taxi and the traffic will be horrible, which will push up the fare. At a guess $60 - $70, but could be higher.

Public transport always runs on NYE till the early hours of New Years Day and the ferries always start up again after the fireworks. If they don't this year it will be for the first time since they started the midnight fireworks displays.

At 1 am the Manly ferry will be crowded so expect long queues.

If you are forced (or choose) to take a taxi, it will be over $100 given the slow moving traffic along Military Rd and Spit Rd on NYE at that time and the fact that there is a 20% surcharge on fares after midnight.
