Getting from Sydney to Newcastle Jets game

I'm in Sydney for 48hrs but want to see Newcastle Jets next month before I head back to UK. How easy is it to get to the game and back to Sydney via public transport (it is a saturday evening game).

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

there is a 'fast' train to newcastle from central every hour. the trip takes just under 3 hours.

coming back may be a problem depending on when the game finishes as it seems from the city rail saturday time table the last train leaves newcastle at 9:41pm and with a change in gosford gets into sydney at 12:47am.

You would also need to know which ground was being used, also the starting time. It is most likely you would need to take a taxi to and from the railway station - probably Broadmeadow rather than Newcastle. More specific informatrion could be proved with this information.

Presuming you are planning on going to there home ground in New Lambton - Hunter Stadium ???

If so, the closest train station would be Broadmeadow & you can walk to the ground in around 10 mins.

Suggest you use the NSW public transport planner www.131500.com.au

which will help you get there from your Sydney base.

If they play anything like they did yesterday you are mission nothing by watching it on the tele in a pub in Sydney. You'll probably lose interest after about 5 minutes like most of the fans did. It was incredibly boring from a Jets perspective.

When the highlight of the day is a pitch invader that did nothing in particular then you know the home team have let their fans down.

If you really need to see them then they are playing at home on 8 December 7.45pm and 22 December. 5.30pm ( v Sydney)
