Is there much pubs or clubs in North Ryde?

If so is it a safe place to visit?

There are a few pubs. Where specifically are you visiting? The area covers quite a lot of ground.

It's a safe* place to visit but somewhat boring. I'd head into the city for some nightlife.

*So long as you use your city smarts and take sensible precautions if walking through Macquarie Uni at night.

Why North Ryde ?? It's residential but mostly its full of factories & office buildings. There is a shopping Mall / University / RSL Club & a few hotels.

There's The Ranch near the Macquarie Centre, I used to go there when I worked at the Macquarie Shopping Centre.

Mary

I'm wondering if you are thinking of what I call Top Ryde and the newly revamped Westfield (?) shopping centre etc and surrounding businesses there ?

It is a safe place to visit.

North Ryde RSL is a huge club - bistro dining, kids play area etc. http://www.northrydersl.com.au/

This venue has a courtesy bus.

There is also a popular pub in Gladesville - the Bayview Tavern (beer garden and bistro plus live music)- on Victoria Rd which is closeby.

The newly developed shopping centre at Top Ryde is not a Westfield - thats a good thing I think!! There are dining and drinking venues there also.

The Ranch at is still hugely popular. http://www.theranch.com.au/index.html

This place also has accommodation.

Macquarie Centre has lots of places to eat and drink.

Mary, other posters have filled you on what is available. I am not sure how long you have lived in Lithgow and whether you used to frequent the 'Bloodhouse" or some of the other current 5 pubs and 3 clubs in town, but if you have managed nights out in your town you should have trouble at North Ryde! ;)

So Greg, what do you know about the 'Blood House' Hotel in Lithgow or is that the old 'Imperial Hotel'.
