Wedding venue suggestion for small wedding

Hi everyone

I am getting married in Sydney this August and trying to find a venue(waterfront, garden,beachside..) and reception in the same location to hire.

guest would be around 15 to 20 people.

Hope to find a wedding package that is under 3000 and including venue hire, food, set up..

Can anyone give me some ideas please?

thank you

Lynn

Try this venue.

It is on bay front in Lilyfield.

I have been to this place a few time for bigger weddings. Not sure if they have smaller rooms.

You might need to up your budget a bit though.

No idea about costs, but here are a few suggestions

Long Reef Golf Club. longreefgolfclub.com.au/beach-weddings/

Gunners’ Barracks at Mosman http://gunnersbarracks.com.au/

I went to a gorgeous small wedding at the Rotunda on Balmoral Beach just before dusk last Autumn. Long & luscious dinner across the street at the Beach House https://www.gpogrand.com/beach-house-italian…

There were about 30 of us & it was one of the prettiest & loveliest weddings I’ve been to. Just easy & everything worked beautifully. I think you would probably have to get Council permission to use the Rotunda.

Nielsen Park ( Vaucluse). https://www.thenielsen.com.au/

Watson’s Bay

Reception at Dunbar House

McMahons Point -

Reception at Sails

These all work, because they offer outside venues and also inside for Plan B if it rains. Just make sure you tee up Plan B contingency with the venue before the day ;)

There will be lots of others, these are just the ones I know & have attended weddings at them in the last year or two.

Congratulations & all the best

The Nielsen at Vaucluse is really nice and the beach is beautiful and clean.

Nice to see TA have finally woken up to themselves & restored this thread!

I hope the OP returns, as there are lots of lovely venues that would work for a small wedding.

Have you thought about a boat?

A tall ship like the James Craig could cater for your numbers & I think would be fabulous.

Or, one of the motor cruisers, of which there is a reasonable selection.

I hired a small ferry for a party some years ago & it was fantastic.

Good luck!

Having just been through the dreaded 'venue hunt' with my daughter I'll toss in a couple of things.

I think you will have little to no chance of securing some of the suggested venues for August THIS year - they will have most likely been booked months ago (we were looking 12 months ahead and many were already gone)

However, if you would consider a week night (Fridays are often considerably cheaper than Saturdays too) wedding you will have much more luck finding somewhere that isn't already booked

Ok so here's one out of the box

Try The Women's College at USYD

Lovely gardens, Olde worlde charm (think Hogwarts)
