LA Times story with good advice

Here’s a new article from the Los Angeles Times about a relaxing stopover on the Coast Highway, Ragged Point Inn.

I have not been to this place, and it is only one of many places to stop between Santa Barbara and Monterey. But the real reason I’m posting it is because of the author’s advice to travelers, which should be taken to heart by everyone who thinks they want to drive between Los Angeles and San Francisco in one day, or even two: take your time and enjoy the trip. Your vacation isn’t about getting from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible.

Quote: "Highway 1 is considered one of America's top road trips. I enjoyed it much more when I spent the night locally than I did during other trips when I high-powered it from Los Angeles to Monterey.”
