Is it that bad at Mellieha Bay Hotel?

Have been to Mellieha Bay Hotel in 2006 and 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now booked a week in November but have been disturbed to see reviews on Trip Advisor.

We thought the hotel had been refurbished and rooms updated and know it is now all inclusive. However, reviews seem very negative. I know this is an old hotel but it had a certain homeliness and atmosphere when we were there, staff were good, rooms were very clean, food was pretty decent. Can anyone help here?

ALSO, if you have been in November, what do ladies take to wear in an evening - summery things or trousers and tops??

Can you tell me what the name of the restaurant is at the end of the private road. Traveling to Malta in April / May and would like to look it up. Any other suggestions of places to eat?

Agliolio at the Radisson at Golden Bay is Italian cuisine and is located down by the beach, starters were €8 to €10 main course cost for Pizza or pasta between €6.50 and €12 and up to €22 for a steak, the menu has a good selection. The food is good and in August we found it extremely busy, for this reason I would recommend booking a table on the terrace. 00 356 2356 1000

Piccolo Padre is underneath the Barracuda, 195 Main Street, Saint Julian’s, 21344875, this is cheaper than the Barracuda, has a good selection of pizzas, pastas and fish dishes including swordfish steaks main courses are range from about €9 to €14. If using the Le Meridien car park show them the ticket and you will get 2 hours free parking.

Mamma Mia Ta' Xbiex Seafront, Ta' Xbiex 21337248 in Msida cost about € 15 per head with drinks, you have to book in advance in high season as very popular with the locals.
