Mellieha - arriving late Saturday night - shops open Sunday?

We have booked a S/C apartment holiday in Mellieha mid March and have a late flight arrival on the Saturday evening. Wonder if anyone knows/can recommend where we could go and get a few provisions in for the Sunday and maybe a good place (not too expensive) to eat Sunday lunch in the area.

Thanks in advance Jo

How late ? I am sure that the apartment owner would leave you some provisions for a small sum of money if requested !

Mellieha is a bustling town and I am sure that you will find shops open on Sunday morning for anything you want . Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from .

Good places, on Triq-Gorg-Olivier --- a couple tucked away at the right angle at top of the steepest part of the hill. Further down Triq-Gorg-Olivier there is also a very popular pizza restaurant below the Maritim Antonine Hotel and a more up market restaurant directly opposite -- both are owned by the hotel.

but if you have car there is a nice place for Sunday lunch on the Triq-II-Marfa at the north end of Mellieha bay right at the north end of the beach.

Can't remember the name but it just out of town sits on its own as the ground rises above the very far north end of the beach. --- great view over the sand very reasonable prices nice salads, high quality burghers and very good tourist food.

Some days we used to pass the morning there and have a very leisurely lunch.

There is a little supermarket on the main street just as you enter Mellieha, called Shoppers. They are open on a Sunday & you should be able to stock up with all your groceries.

You should be able to find several restaurants open for Sunday lunch in the village. One place we like to go, not necessarily for Sunday lunch, is La Amigo, their food is always very nice.
