Resort Guide

Hi We have never been to Gran Canaria before and I would like some help in choosing a hotel. We like to walk by the sea and although we have been looking at Puero Mogan it does not have a sea promenade and someone said that Maspalomas does. Please can anyone suggest a nice hotel with good food and smiley staff and also which is the quietest part of this resort. Is meloneras part of the resort or next to it? any suggestions or information on the walk too?We really like Playa Blanca on Lanzarote but find it so windy we thought we would have a change.

You could try Amadores and use the walkway to Puerto Rico for your walk by the sea plus there is a short walk alongside the beach. That would give you the choice of either of the Gloria Palaces

Hi

Meloneras is pretty much a resort in it's own right - the Lighthouse is pretty much the dividing line between Maspalomas and Meloneras. Meloneras is mainly high-end 4-5 star hotels, with a lovely well maintained seafront prom with great restaurants (although a bit pricy). I highly recommend the area, and we have had 5 lovely stays at the Lopesan Costa Meloneras.

Hi,

I've stayed at the Lopesan Baobab in Meloneras and Vegas Showgirl is quite correct with her description of Melonares.
