Any comments on Trelleborg Viking fortress

Haven't seen anyone comment on Trelleborg? Is it worth going to from Roskilde? Is it feasible to do both sites in one day?

Can't really comment on the Trelleborg Viking fortress but I had a look at their web site. Doesn't seem to be too interesting. Could maybe be fun for kids though. trelleborg.se/tourism/…

But it takes approx 2 hours to travel by public transport between Roskilde and Trelleborg:

Train Roskilde - Köbenhavn H (25 minutes), train Köbenhavn H - Malmö Hyllie station (25 minutes), bus #346 Malmö Hyllie station - Trelleborg (35 minutes). With waiting times between connections it takes 2 hours.

So count on at least 4 hours on trains and buses going back and forth.

Yeah, I looked at the website and it didn't seem like much either. A 2 hr commute is probably too long.

HOXA61 - there is a Trelleborg viking fortress in Denmark also - near Slagelse, that is why the OP posted in a Denmark forum and not a Swedish one.

Orbops I have visited Trelleborg near Slagelse and find that it's an interesting place - however public transport it not frequent.

But perhaps a taxi from Slagelse st to the fortress could be an option depending on how many are going? The train from Roskilde to Slagelse is frequent and just a 30 minute trip.

Until mid-August there are daily activities - except for monday when the museum is closes and Friday for some reason where you get a sense of how life was inside the fortification - something that the museum in Roskilde does not show.

The English edition of the website is a bit dry: http://www.vikingeborg.dk/

Ooops! :-)

That makes a difference. The Trelleborg in Trelleborg didn't seem fun at all.
