Dinghy sailing in November

My husband and I will be staying in Vilamoura from 29/11 to 6/12/12

He would love to be able to hire a dinghy nearby. Are there places to do this?

He's happy with a Wayfarer or Laser

Our local community here is sailing summer and winter.

There's a sailing school/club near the Marina.

Unfortunately the following website http://www.cimav.org is only in P'gese but you could send them an e-mail:

CIMAV - Clube Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura

Centro Náutico Cimav

Marina de Vilamoura

Apartado 785

8125-409 Vilamoura

Algarve - Portugal

Tel.: + (351) 289 302 536 Telm.: (351) 969 102 791

Fax: + (351) 289 389 153

Secretaria : cimav@mail.telepac.pt

Hope that helps.

You can buy a DInghy from most shops? Take it anywhere then.

well just to update anyone interested in dinghy sailing. I contacted CIMAV and organised a sailing lesson. The boat had a daggerboard and a gib so was like a dinghy but much bigger. The sail was a hoist sail as well (I'm not up on my sailing lingo...I've only just started), The instructor didn't speak any English but as I had sailed before I understood what he was saying 90% of the time. I would have found it almost impossible if I had never sailed before.

I'd say if you speak Portuguese then the lesson would be excellent for a beginner. Really good theory and the instructor is very experienced. He corrected my posture and I actually learnt a lot in his company. All in all I would do it again...however, I didn't see any small dinghies anywhere so I don't think you can take a pico or laser out unfortunately.
