Hiya, Congratulations!

it sounds like I am in the same position as you. I too have worries as we are having a late wedding at 7.15pm and I am so scard that the photos are going to look like a dull day! I think seeing photos of other peoples wedding at this time of day during August would put my mind at ease!

what is worrying you?

i have not received a date or time for my wedding yet, i heard from the tour operator i will fing out in April - anyway i have read that st pauls bay is like a cattle market, on one of the forums someone wrote it is one in one out. this concerns me as i feel it will not be as special as i hoped for. When did you say you get married?

Hello

Have you thought about getting married at another church if you are worried about it being a cattle market. There is a little church above the main beach called St Georges church and not many people seem to get married there and you can marry outside the acropolis too. Have you thought about contacting Lawerence and Karen at Lindos Weddings. I have heard nothing but good reviews about them and they will meet with you in the UK too.

I should not worry about it being too busy if you are marrying in August. I think it is more popular to marry in May - Early June and September - october as it is much cooler then. I am marrying june 24th @ 6:30 and i am not worried at all.

DO not worry about that at all, if you are on the beach watching it might seem busy but when you are there it is not.

Your planner will make sure you do not bump in to another bride there was another wedding after mine but i did not see the bride, especially if you go on a boat trip or the beach platform after the wedding then you dont have to walk back up the slope so you wont see the other wedding party.

I got married in August and 3 of my wedding party are now getting married in the same place.

it is fantastic just relax and enjoy that is why you get married abroad in the first place !

here are some photos

Hiya ASJLancashire

I got married there in September 2005 and was also really worried about it being like a cattle market. It is a popular place to get married but thats not suprising at how beautiful it is, but to be honest I was to wrapped up and so excited about my wedding that I never took any notice of any other wedding party bar my own. We got married at 6pm and then went onto Dionysos for our reception and then onto the Lindos View for dancing and drinks as we stayed there. Lindos is very wedding orientated and you will see other wedding parties throughout your time there but it just made me more excited and looking forward to when my big day was. I felt the same way when we returned last year for our second wedding anniversary. I just love Lindos so much and Im sure I speak for many more people too. Its addictive and when you go back you want to get married all over again. xx

I think it will be as special as you make it. I've heard the reports too, but for every slightly negative one, there is about 10 positive reports which just make it sound like a dream wedding.

If you still are not convinced then maybe choose a different church or request the last wedding of the day.

We are getting married at 7.15pm on August 16th 2008. We have booked with Karen & Laurance from Lindos Weddings, who are absolutely lovely - I'd recomend them already! I am now happy with this time, but would still love to hear from others who got married at a similar time of day or near sunset etc.

I think the worry about 'conveyer belt' weddings at St Pauls is more when you book through a tour company as opposed to a specialist wedding co-ordinator. We booked with Lindos Weddings who have assured us that the way they operate things, we will not be passing loads of other wedding parties on our big day. It's all down to some careful planning and having exclusive use of the beach platform that means we will be staying well clear of any other weddings. From what I can gather, if you book through a tour company, they have a set day and a chunk of that day in which all their weddings are to be held, meaning you are left feeling like you are on a conveyer belt.

Hope this helps!

Hiya

I got married through Airtours and have been to a wedding arranged via Lindos Weddings and I can say that at both weddings there were weddings before and after. This can not be avoided especially at how popular Lindos is to get married now. Our wedding was exactly how I wanted it and the wedding planner we had at the time was great. She no longer works for Airtours and I can also say the wedding I went to arranged via Lindos Weddings was great too. I just hope that brides dont become too disappointed at peoples comments and remember that it is their day and enjoy it like it should be. Unless you are the only wedding of the day you will almost certainly see another wedding party. It will still be the best day of your life and Im sure wou will enjoy it. xx
