Possible to bike or walk from Doolin > Cliffs of Moher?

My mom and I are thinking about staying in Doolin for a night or two to bike the Burren and enjoy the cliffs, maybe cruise out to the Aran Islands. We will not have a car, but will be taking bus/train from Galway to Doolin. Is Doolin a good place to be sans car to see the sights of Clare on foot and by bike?

Is it possible to bike or walk from Doolin to the Cliffs of Moher? A couple posts I read made me a little scared to attempt the hike. Advice?

I wouldn't walk with my mum to the COM by the coast, she'd be fine but I'd lose it:)

Did you know that there's a bus service between the two?

Also, watch out for the cycle sign after the stone cutter's kitchen going from the COM to Doolin - amazing scenery but very steep.

If it was me, I'd walk the bike down this short cut, and enjoy the fantastic views over Doonagore.
