There weren't any extra sunbeds for use by people in the WV's when we were there last year.......but that didn't stop the "Mr & Mrs Matchey's" from trying to claim some! Management had to intervene and explain the beds on the beach were for the BV's only!

People from the WV's tended to use the ones round the pool, there were always some free but they are not on the beach but on the deck around the pool.

No beach drinks service last year but there have been some changes over the last 12 months so maybe someone who has been more recently can comment?

It's a very very lovely island.

IMO all islands should have loungers on the beach for the use of water villa guests. They had them at Kuramathi, Maafushivaru and Athuruga in addition to the loungers allocated to the BVs. The islands that dont have any spare ones are normally ones where there are so so many WVs for the size of the island (and hence small beaches). So when you wander from your water villa and want to spend time on the beach you have to lie on your towel. No thanks.

As we all know on here, thisi is one of the islands that gets a regular bashing from forumites. We ended up there as a last minute choice when our preferred already booked island of Komandoo closed for a refurb and didn't bother to let us know until a few weeks before. We are divers/snorkelers and wanted a decent reef, good food, and spacious light room..........we got the lot here. Yes there are a lot of watervillas, but the island is beautifully laid out and it really doesn't spoil it. There is still an awful lot of greenery to be had and we loved it.

Each to his own!

So given there are 50 beach villas (with their own loungers), but more WVs (62 water villas), and if you are a WV guest but want to spend time on the beach, where do you go/what do you do? With families, thats probably about 150 people possibly wanting to find somewhere to put their towel down on the beach?

mondomaldive.it/Mappe_resort/Centara.html.

Still, its not like its Centara Ras Fushi which is the same size island but has 120 WVs - i mean, where do they all go? - oh yeah, they have sun loungers 2 inches apart to pack everyone in lol

Don't worry about space on the beach - there is plenty of it! And it never seems busy always feels deserted.

Yes there are alot of water villas but most people with them tend to use there deck - if you ask staff about sun loungers on the beach they will provide you with them for the day or they did for us!!!

It has a beautiful beach and in my opinion is great island - have fun
