Clifden is a fairly compact little town, everything is in walking distance. Station House is a little bit on the outskirts of town, but not enough to make a difference, really. Probably 5 minutes walk to the center of things.

Clifden is really just 2-3 streets, I have relatives there so have spent a fair amount of time in the area. Mannions and Kings are both pubs that are likely to have some music going on.

There are a few shops in town with souveniers and clothing and such, but it IS a very small place (maybe 1,200 population) so don't expect the "Clifden Mall" lol. There are some shops right at the hotel, but I haven't been in them.

Nearby activities would have to include a drive on the Sky Road, a visit to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara Nat'l Park, Killary Harbor, maybe a visit to Inishbofin Island. We almost always end up going to the nearby Ballynahich Castle Hotel for a drink or lunch, that's worth a stop too.

Just got back and we enjoyed a lovely evening with Irish musicians and locals at Lowry's Pub in Clifden. E.J. Kings was also very nice.
