Irish woolen Mills

Hi there,

I am traveling to shannon and west Ireland in Sept.

Would like to visit some woolen mills, and ,or, farm , sheep operations and buy some yarns. I am mostly interested in the sheep to yarn process.

Adare and Shannon are in the Mid-West. It is mainly Cattle and Pigs in this area.

As you move further west towards West Clare and up towards Galway you will encounter more sheep.

Foxford in Co Mayo has a Woollen Mill Museum. There is also another outside Killarney (Kerry Woolen Mills).

I am not aware of any sheep to yarn operations.
