Requesting a room

We usually leave the room location to fate but if you were to pick a beach villa on vilamendhoo which number would you pick and why. Our priorities [in order] are nice beach for sunbathing, snorkelling and not miles away from the restaurant etc

Um, well points 2 and 3 are irrelevant as the reef circles the island and nowhere is 'miles' from the restaurant....its a tiny island!

Best beach is around the Jacuzzi beach villas but if you have a beach villa then north east side has the widest beach, from around 170 upwards I think?

Best bit of advice is DONT WORRY ABOUT IT! If you dont like the one they allocate then ask to move, they will always try to please.

Have a great time :-D

Despite building the Asian Wok and its walkway on it, the quietest BV's with a good bit of beach are 130 and 131.

You would be very lucky to get your requested room however.

Hi Katy_Craig

We are off to Vilamendhoo in a few weeks, second visit in 2 years!! (Loved it that much!) We have already e-mailed resort to request our preference of room numbers.....they have replied to say there are no guarantees but they will do their best to accommodate our request. As said before by others, on our last visit we were moved upon our request, once on the Island, as soon as our desired area became available so no problems at all if you dislike where you are put initially!

Top priority for us would be a detached beach villa around no's 180-196. These are quite limited i'm afraid, so luck of the draw. Don't worry about the closeness of the restaurant etc.......the food is so good you will need to walk it off anyway as it's so tempting to over indulge!!

I am sure you will love the whole experience as we have obviously done!

I wouldn't want to be right at the end of the north beach, with the small sea wall and rocky bit before you get to the sad. It's quiet there, though. The rubbish ship pulls up nearly every day half way down the south side. At the end of the day, though, you can be snorkelling where you want within minutes, wherever you are.

As Jody says, the JBVS have the best bits of beach, at least on the south.

AHHG = first sentence, meant the 'sand' not the 'sad'!

Thanks spaniards cannot wait five weeks today (not that we are counting)

Sure the jbv's are better but unfortunately the already stretched budget couldnt stretch to one of them. Sure we will love the beach villa anyway. How could you not be happy in the maldives :)
