Driving to Caprese Michelangelo from Rome or Pisa

Hi

Will be staying in Caprese Michelangelo in June. Just trying to sort out flights, it seems that the only options are Rome or Pisa. We will hire a car at the airport, which would be the easiest journey?

Many thanks

Both drives are almost entirely on the autostrade and the distance/time isn't significantly different, so I think I'd decide based on best flight times and prices.

We would pick Pisa as the Rome ring road is always very busy.

Exiting can became tough if by chance a driver is on the wrong lane and the Romans aren't usually helpful to let the unlucky driver into the right lane.

I think "always" is a bit extreme ... although I agree it is often busy. I've driven from FCO to Tuscany many times and only once been caught in what I would consider really heavy traffic. The traffic around Florence is also legendary, which again makes it a six of one, half dozen of the other kind of decision.
