things to do

Miltenberg is a stop on our river cruise this July. I can't find much information on things to do besides glass blowing demo. Is there a beirgarten or wine shop, etc here?

Miltenberg has a really nice (and long) pedestrian zone. And a castle directly above the old town.

Miltenberg has the oldest guest house in Germany

and the smallest theater on the planet (Guiness book of world records)

Miltenberg has a brewery with excellent beer. They have a brewery pub (BRAUHAUS FAUST) and a beer garden (the fancy F in a blue dot logo) - you can spot these on the below map.

Brewery is next to the brewery pub, i.e. still in the old town. A sight on its own.

Miltenberg had once 7 breweries. Number 6 just closed their doors in March 2010. Their homepage is still alive. You can see their building as background pic.

With so many beer, there is still some place for a few vineries. Albeit there are much more in nearby places like Bürgstadt.

There shop is open Mo-Sa till 7pm

They serve wine however only a few times during the year.

and another one

Shop open Mo,We-Sa 3pm-6pm

Visit of their vine cellar is possible (and free) during these times, also Su 3pm-6pm (but no sale).

There are also some really famous distilleries in the region (esp. Freudenberg and Großheubach). Easy to find their products in Miltenberg.

And last but not least, the "best known" attraction of Miltenberg: the factory outlet for Daniel Hechter clothes. Daniel Hechter Aubach GmbH, Frühlingsstrasse 17, 63897 Miltenberg. Open Tu-Fr 11am-7pm and Sa 9am-6pm.

If you're dying for some eats I can recommend the restaurant at Flair Hotel Hopfengarten.

We spent a morning in Miltenburg while on a river cruise last November. First we walked up to the castle and enjoyed the utter peace and quiet as we were the only ones about early in the morning. We discovered an old church with stone steps leading down a path that took us back to the pedestrian. Most everything was closed as we were only there until noon but my husband managed to sniff out a a bakery where we enjoyed a cafe and he indulged his sweet tooth with a slab of warm apple strudel.

It is a charming little down but much of what you can see is dependent also on the time of day you will be there.
