Val Thorens Cristmas

My husband and I will be spending a week in Val Thorens for a week over Christmas. Is anyone able to tell me the following-

- how busy is it?

- what would be suitable to wear in the evening?

- are snow boots worth taking?

Any other information that is useful would be great, can't think of anything else to ask.

Christmas is high season and busy but not so much as new year .

At 2,300 mtrs. The temperatures really drop after sunset .

The village is not flat .

The roads are ploughed and gritted but not snow free.

Urban footwear is a disadvantage although you don't need to walk far.

The free in resort bus service is not frequent during the evening.
