Mistral in May vs. Sept

Hello, Does anyone know how likely we are to experience le Mistral in the second half of May vs. first half of Sept? I know the wind doesn't send a memo, but am wondering about the likelihood of good weather. Still trying to figure out the best month for our first trip to Cassis and Paris... . Thank you so much.

I have been in S France many times in May and September and have never experienced any significant Mistral. In essence the Mistral, at any rate in its violent form, is a wind which results from high pressure over northern Europe and low pressure in the Med, conditions which normally exist only in winter.
