MSM to Nantes

Hi, I will be coming back to your beautiful part of the world again in a couple of months.

This time I am planning to visit MSM, as well as spending more time in Bayeaux and Caen. Eventually though I have to get to Munich: apart from heading back to Paris, another option which seems to do flights to Munich is Nantes Atlantique.

Would anybody be able to advise whether it is possible to get to Nantes airport from MSM (I guess Pontorson?) without a car? Or is this a completely impractical thing to do? (multiple connections, train/bus & then maybe a taxi to the actual airport etc). In other words, is it much quicker & easier to get back to Paris, or is Nantes a viable option from MSM?

My other option would be train (I'm from Australia so multi-hour train journeys are the norm!). Last time in Europe I stumbled upon a great website for working out schedules & prices from virtually any random small town in Europe (like Pontorson). Any tips for a single website that will work across multiple counties?

Thank you

This one really comes up as six one, half-dozen the other.

From Pontorson, you have two routes -- one with a change in Caen and Le Mans, and the other with only one change at Rennes.

For either option, you can go to Nantes or directly to CDG in Paris.

I would think that the flights would be more numerous and cheaper from Paris...but the train voyage is a little longer....

You can check different possibilities with this site

I saw different possibilities from Pontorson to Nantes that take around 3h.

Once in Nantes, there is a shuttle from the train station to the airport every 30 min. It's a 20 min ride and it costs 7.50 euros

Thanks guys - looks like either option is possible. A matter of keeping an eye on flight options from both. Paris probably is also easier to co-ordinate with a train to Munich if I choose that option.

ps just want to confirm that the Battle of Normandy Museum in Bayeaux & the Memorial de Caen are both still in operation?
