Driving to Le Cap d'Agde

Has anyone ever heard of an 80 year old Driving from

Calais to Cap d'Agde.

I've done it every year for about 15 years but some joker has now told me that I'm too old.

I might add that I have always been accident free and am an Associate Member of the Advanced School of Motorists.

I just need a bit of a buck up ! or any other suggestion !!!!!!

Provided that joker isn't your doctor or Mrs Beanyboy, I would give them a Churchillian salute and go ahead anyway. As long as you're in good health and break up the journey a bit, I can't see any reason for not doing it.

Thanks PL that brought a smile to my face. You're a good'un.

But yes, I would really like to agree with you and it has already made me feel

a bit better.

Having just completed a lengthy treatment process I'm fine other than feeling a bit downhearted so the holiday would me and Mrs BB very good.

I may well take your advice and go for it .......and sincerely thank you for taking the time to respond.

Best regards

I have a friend who did it recently at the age of 87. He said he was getting more tired and he had stopped half way.

Yep, we normally go staight down the middle ie ending up A6..A7..A9.

You would'nt catch me even looking at the Millau let alone ride over it.

Nice to hear from you.

A6 A7 A9 is always quickest (I'll take it next week going to Calais), but the A75 / A71 is prettier, easier, and cheaper on tolls.

I wasn't making up stories.

There was a retired doctor who last drove down at 90.

My father stopped bringing his caravan down at the age of 80 (but when they talked of 100km summer queues on the autoroute, I think I know who was at the front ! )

I believe you of course and much appreciate your response.

I have had a rethink and will endeavour to take the bull by the horns

I am really grateful for your input on this.
