Beziers transportation

Hi, We are staying near Beziers and would like to know if it is possible to function without a car and still see lots of great things. How is the rail service in and around Beziers?

A car is a real godsend for this area. Train routes and services have been cut right back and it is basically an intercity thing now which is fine if you want to go to Sete/Montpellier or Carcassonne/Toulouse but otherwise pretty limited.

The local government bus service might come in handy

Yes indeed. Rent a boat and travel the canal.

It is possible to visit Perpignan, Carrcassone, Sete, Montpellier, and Le Grau du Roi (perhaps the closest rail service to the beach) by train but it is not as easy as it is on the Cote d'Azure. I recommend using a car.
