any good for beginners?/mountain restaurant prices?

Hello

Can someone please tell me if Selva is a good base for beginners? Are there a decent number of good blue runs?

Also, approx how much is a meal for four? Eg a year ago in Champoluc (Italy) lunch cost us approx Euros 35 for four for a delicious main course and couple of drinks each. At New Year in France it was more like 100+! Wondering which it is likely to be.

Many thanks.

Hello,

Val Gardena is ok!

Never can you find so many different pists and it is a paradise for beginners.

The restaurants are top and the prices are more or less the same of Champoluc.

Try with Thomson Lake, they organise you fly and accomodation transfer included.

Hi

Selva is a very good base for beginners, as there is a really good ski school (www.scuola-sci-val-gardena.com/eng/index.html) and plenty of pistes for them to try. Also, it sounds like you have a mixed group so there'll be plenty for the others to do too.

Prices for food on the mountain are generally reasonable. There are obviously a couple of places which charge a bit more, but in a "normal" restaurant you're paying about €7 for a pasta and a bit more for polenta or steak. Nothing like the prices that they charge in France though!!
