San Remo or Bordighera

Trying to decide which town to visit next year, coming down from Paris. The forum here certainly seems more current as I did post a question on the Bordighera forum a short time ago, which last had a post in 2011!!

We are staying 5 nights in Paris, then we want to stay 3 night in Itlay, near the border, so we can go back and spend a few days in Nice before flying back to Paris and then home. My major concerns are trying to get to either town by train. Is it necessary to transfer in Nice. Also, the reviews of San Remo seemed mixed, while Bordighera seems a little better. We do want to stay a few days in Italy but don't want to stray too far over the border.

All thoughts and ideas welcomed.

Thanks

JDP
